Description:

Bebearia oxione, the Banded Forester, is a butterfly in the Nymphalidae family. When the butterflies are at rest on the forest floor with their wings closed, the overall impression is of a dead dry leaf. Adults are attracted to fallen fruit.

seen in a patch of sunshine along a forest trail in thick primary forest
