Golden- Mantled Ground Squirrel

Callospermophilus lateralis

Habitat:

Open habitat, Grasses, wildflowers and scattered pines and Aspens. Elevation 8,373 ft.

Notes:

Turn out there were 7 young squirrels in the burrow that I previously spotted. I could not get all of them in a photo as they were scattered about. They were not disturbed by our presence.
