Orange-barred Sulphur Caterpillar

Phoebis philea philea

Description:

One of the longest but hard to see caterpillars, blended so well with the bush, that if it wasn't because Pamsai (PN member visiting Costa Rica from India) wanted to take a closer look at the eggs that a gorgeous large white Butterfly she was taking pictures of was laying, we would have miss them

Notes:

The Butterfly: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/213... I am almost sure this is the Chrysalis (even though I have the wrong ID for it) http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/380...

Great, thanks Gilma. The last shot on that link looks remarkably like your Cloudless Sulphur Chrysalis spotting!

Thank you so much for the ID, EarlyStages.
Most of my Catepillar's spottings have not been ID, I thought this one would not be either....so happy!!
Pam, here we go, we got an ID, we even have a link to see what the butterfly looks like. : )

Thank you Pam, would be nice to get an ID but none of my Caterpillars have ID's... : (
