Garrulus glandarius
Medium size corvid, of 32 to 35 cm long, and wingspan of 54 to 58 cm. It has very characteristic colours, including a white rump that is the basic detail to identify it in flight. It also has very striking blue colour in tertiary feathers. It is a very noisy bird. It is omnivorous feeding specially on acorns, that accumulate during autumn to eat them during the hard winter. It is not a very sociable corvid, gathering in small family groups.
