Red-crested Cardinal

Description:

Also known as Brazillian Cardinal, it was introduced into the Island of Hawaii around 1930s. Adult gray above and white below with a distinctive red head, crest, and upper breast. Bill is silver-gray; Legs are dark.

Habitat:

This is a wide spread urban bird, found in parks, lawns, and open dry forest. It forages on the ground for seeds, plant matter, insects, and fruits.
