Geometrid Moth

Plutodes costatus

Description:

At first it appears like a summo wrestler's shirt! It's a chocolate moth. The wings have a golden band all around which ends at the hind area. Wing-span: 52mm.

Habitat:

I spotted this strange, but pretty moth on the ceiling of our prayer room entrance. This building is surrounde by bamboos and forests. Temp: Warm.

Notes:

The strange shape of the moth attracted my attention - of course I observe every critter that visits our house, and if they require further examination. On further examination I found this moth quite interesting and unique!

Geometridae, Ennominae, should be Plutodes costatus.
