Oldfield Aster

Symphyotrichum sp.

Description:

Pretty sure it's genus Symphyotrichum, but several species look similar and are common in the Southeast U.S. Possibly Symphyotrichum pilosum, although the stems don't look quite right ... so, still on the search for a species ID.

Habitat:

Disturbed area at the border between overgrown lawn and scrubby woods.
