Description:

Gnophos sartata occurs from Italy across parts of the Balkans to Greece and to W-Asia. The larvae are polyphagous and can be found on herbs and lower parts of bushes. This adult moth was spotted resting on gravel, and it was mottled with its environment. Photographed near Volos city, Greece.
