Purple Skimmer

Libellula jesseana

Description:

Bluish body, clear wings near the body and gradually wash to orange at the tips.

Habitat:

Spotted in the scrub habitat of Paisley, Florida

Notes:

Spotted while volunteering with Florida Fish and Wildlife during Scrub-Jay Watch 2019. My guess is it's a Purple Skimmer.

Thank you Gaia80. I appreciate it. I wanted a second opinion because I’ve never spotted a rare Dragonfly before.

It is the purple skimmer, I'm almost certain of it, it's also redlisted as VU(vulnerable).
