This medium-sized lizard retreated into the shade of a woody shrub when approached.
Seen in the Florida Keys on a particularly hot day. Coastal area.
It is an introduced species in Florida.
Thanks. It was my first time seeing them. They’re quite ubiquitous in South Florida and regarded almost as pests, sadly.
