White-tailed prairie dog

Description:

The White-tailed prairie dog is a herbivorous burrowing ground squirrels native to the grasslands of North America. Light brown to tan with dark eye patches above and below the eye. The tail is white.

Habitat:

Spotted at the Ouray NWR in Utah. Open grass prairie, desert, wetlands, and lowland riparian are at the refuge.
