Aplidium sp.
This reddish-orange lobulated blob is a colony of sea squirts held together by a skin. Individual zooids can be seen beneath this skin. The whole mass was firm to touch.
Spotted amongst rock pools in the intertidal area - Westernport Bay.

This ascidian colony was spotted by Mark, my husband. We initially though it might be an egg mass. If my ID is incorrect I would welcome any suggestion. Thanks.
