Townsend's Big-Eared Bat

Corynorhinus townsendii

Description:

A group of 40-50 sleeping Townsend's Big-Eared Bats spotted in the "rock rooms" on Elk Mountain, in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, OK.

Notes:

As my son and I sat and watched, slowly, one-by-one the bats woke and flew down to a lower portion of the cave.
