Description:

I found a pair of these exquisite herons stalking prey at the edge of a rainforest creek where it joined the much larger, Shiripuno river, Yasuni National Park, Ecuador.

Habitat:

Riparian, edges of streams and lagoons, gallery forests, etc. widespread throughout the Neotropics
