Macrolepiota sp

Description:

It stood about 13 cm off the ground and was about 7.5 cm across. The top was dry. I didn't think to get a picture from the bottom.

Habitat:

This grew rapidly (not recently cut grass) in the middle of the yard in the Amazon rainforest of SE Ecuador.

Notes:

We have lived here for 33 years. We get 20 feet of rain a year and this is the only time I have seen one growing in the yard.
