Ophidiaster ophidianus
This is reportedly the biggest starfish of Adriatic sea (here about 40cm in diameter) with long cylindrical arms. Here, two colour variants were observed, one bright red with dark red irregular blotches (pic No1), and uniformly dark red-purple one (all other pics).
Common bottom dweller in Dubrovnik riviera. Found on sand-rock bottom, not too far away from the coast, at about 9-10 m of depth.
