I think it's a blooming nettle but I've never seem them bloom like that. The flowers look like fox glove

Thanks Hayley It looked more nettle than mint though I don't recall ever seeing them bloom before I must have since I grew up with the vicious things lol

It's weird, my Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast book has a picture labelled "Marsh Skullcap" that looks exactly like this picture, and yet when I google it, every picture has the leaves being smaller and the flowers blue or purple. But the flower shape is generally the same. I can see why you thought nettle, because of the leaf shape. If it is skullcap, it's in the mint family. I'm not sure what species. It actually looks more like the one that's supposed to be in Virginia, Showy Skullcap.
