Tortoise Beetle

Chelymorpha cribraria (red form)

Habitat:

Native to S. America & West Indies; established in FL. Suburban park in shrubs and vines.

Notes:

I always love finding these beetles at this location, and I normally see a few. This one today seemed busy about its eggs.

Thank you. This is on the underside of a vine leaf (most likely a morning glory of some kind, though I couldn't tell you which). I held the leaf turned over for the photo. The beetle did not seemed to be disturbed.
