Description:

Tiny adult male bird. Black cap and beak, red throat, gray-white underbelly, and bright green back.

Habitat:

Back yard of home in suburban Madison, Alabama. Near wooded areas, gardens, farms, streams, schools.

Notes:

This bird was perched on a tree near the nectar bird feeder he was guarding. He would chase away any other hummingbirds at the feeder.
