Alligator

Alligator mississippiensis

Description:

Large reptile living in the Taylor Slough, Everglades National Park. On warm sunny days they are out of the water warming their bodies. This was taken in May so I was surprised that this guy wasn't cooling his body in the water since by May the weather is so hot and humid

Habitat:

is a reptile endemic only to the Southeastern United States. It is one of the two living species of alligator.
