Vervet Monkey

Chlorocebus pygerythrus

Description:

A small old world monkey that is found widely in South Africa. It congregates in large family groups and can often be seen in trees and running on the ground and across roads.

Habitat:

Acacia bushveld and subtropical forests as well as green urban areas

Notes:

This particular vervet was seen in Kruger National Park, South Africa on 2 August, 2008, but these little guys were most recently seen on 14 February, 2011.
