This is a very common member of the Pinaceae family in your area, the Eastern Hemlock. The tiny cones are a key indication, but if you want to really be sure, take a look at the underside of the needles, where you'll see two white lines running parallel down the length of each needle. Use this I.D. tactic to separate the leaves from the similar Yew tree.
