Candy-Striped Leaf Hopper

Graphocephala coccinea

Description:

Turquoise and red striped, sort of lime green legs.

Habitat:

We found this little bugger on one of our corn stalks

Notes:

This leaf hopper is know to suck the juice out of leaves causing damage to the leaves, however this was our first time spotting one! They are quite beautiful, so I'm hoping they don't cause any damage to my garden!

Thank you, I love taking photos of anything in nature, so when my daughter and I saw this we were all over it! We have been gardening for a few years now but haven't see this, however we have had several insects and animals. This little guys inspired me to join Noah, it's pretty cool! And no our garden is not over run by them, lol so I'm sure we are in the clear!

Lovely first spotting on Noah - it's cool to see a new kind of wildlife! Unless your garden is over-run with them, it will probably be ok. :)
