Tragopogon dubius

Description:

A single large, yellow, dandelion-like flower head, 1-2" wide, with many petals but no center disk flowers. Grass like leaves, 1' long.

Habitat:

Spotted along Hwy 29 near Pine Lake. It grows along roads, dry, sun, and open fields.

Notes:

Sometimes called Yellow Goatsbeard, this European import looks like a large dandelion.
