Skipper butterfly

Family: Hesperiidae

Description:

This little one was happy to show off in front of the camera. I've never met such an outgoing skipper before! What a blessing to get to meet these lovely creatures!

Notes:

This one looks like it has a little smile if you look close enough! So cute! It was my buddy for a long while!

I wondered if if was, as well. I can't be totally sure, as I didn't get a good top view of it with a full spread, but I have a feeling you're right. Thanks :)

Nice photo. I think it might be a woodland skipper based on my field guide.

Yes, very common in the PNW. They're super adorable little things. I mostly see fiery skippers or woodland skippers, but I couldn't be sure what this one was, thus I went solely with the family name. :)

I saw one just like this one 2 days ago. These species must be common in the Pacific Northwest. I don't have more then the family either :(
