Green Lacewing Larva

family Chrysopidae

A little lacewing larva inside its house of debris. It was scraping up lichen from the fence. You can see its little legs sticking up in the second picture.

Wood fence, rural deciduous area, Clermont County

Fun fact: Lacewing larvae collect debris from their surroundings to build a "house" around themselves, both for protection and camouflage.
