Harvestmen

Opiliones

Description:

I can always find these spider looking arthropods climbing walls. This one was on the exterior wall of my workplace.

Habitat:

Sides of buildings

Notes:

Incorrectly called "Daddy Long Legs" around here. That term is also used for two other unrelated arthropods: the crane fly (Tipulidae) and the cellar spider (Pholcidae). Opiliones is not actually a spider (order Araneae) but is its own order of arthropod closely related to mites, scorpions, pseudoscorpions, and solifugae.
