I love Darlingtonia!

And the coolest thing about them is that they are carnivorous. The flies and bees buzz in on the downside end of the tube, then get confused by the light that shines through the clear "windows" in the top of the "flower". The insects get stuck like a fly under a skylight, and eventually rest in the bottom where they get stuck and eventually decompose into the plant..

There is a Darlingtonia Wayside just north of Florence, Oregon, on Highway 101, where you can observe a Darlingtonia marsh with lots of them. Their "bloom" lasts quite a long time through summer.
