Artist's Bracket Fungus

Ganoderma applanatum

Description:

Fungus. Fleshy. White and sponge-like underneath and dark orange on top. Approx 15 cm long and 8 cm wide.

Habitat:

Found growing on the base of an aspen tree. Growing in aspen and fir forest about 100 m uphill from a river. Growing in mountains at 7700 ft.

Notes:

Some of the pictures are not so great. Taken on the move while hiking.
