Cupido comyntas or Everes comyntas
These relatively common butterflies have a wingspan of about an inch. The males tend to have blue upper wings while the females tend to have paler blue wings,but other colors may occur. The chevron-shaped spots on the underside of the hindwing in addition to the "tail" helps to identify this butterfly.
I found these butterflies in a dry, grassy area near a large wetland.
