Humming Bird moth

Description:

Wingspan 38 to 50 millimeters. Wings initially plum red to brownish black. Body spindle shaped, mostly olive green with red bands across abdomen and rear tufts.

Habitat:

Forest edges, meadows, and cultivated flower gardens

Notes:

Caterpillars feed on the foliage of plants of the honeysuckle family.
