Baby White-nosed Coati

Nasua narica

Description:

Potentially the cutest mammal I've ever seen! Fur is reddish brown, have a long nose, and a long, banded tail. Really enjoyed seeing so many of these guys and watching them run up and down trees and play with each other!

Habitat:

Hanging out on the side of the service road at my resort. Running from one patch of forest to another, they were pretty comfortable around people and I saw them begging for food several times throughout the week.

Thanks guys! Juan, this guy was just part of the group of about 15 I encountered at this time. It was at night so I didn't have enough light to get the whole group, but there were 3 babies and the rest adults. I did see many throughout the week that were by themselves, so I guess those were the males then.

You are right Ashley, young coatis are very cute. To me is interesting this one is alone, they typically hang with their mother and other females. Mature males, in the other hand, are solitary animals, so they are called "Gato Solo" in Panama

So cute fellows :-) i agreed they are to cute
Congrats and thanks for sharing
