Enormous, heavy-bodied, wingless grasshopper, this specimen green in color as shown. They can also be brown, tan, pinkish, even blue.

Habitat:

On sunflower plant at edge of vast field that is degraded shortgrass prairie habitat with yucca, prickly-pear cacti, and scattered elm trees.
