Snapping Turtle

Chelydra serpentina

Description:

Female snapping turtle searching for a suitable nesting spot

Notes:

This female was looking for a suitable place to lay eggs. Unfortunately, the mulch near my backyard garden wasn't deep ( or sandy) enough. She disappeared about 3 minutes after this picture was taken.
