Common Triangular Spider

Arkys lancearius

Description:

About 8mm body length. Red with yellow and white spots on the abdomen. Although placed in the family of the Orb-weavers, this species is an ambush hunter that doesn't build a web. Sometimes it can be seen dangling from a single strand of silk.

Habitat:

Among grasses in an area of farmland interspersed with patches of tropical rainforest.
