Fungus Gnat

Description:

A tiny fly with beautifully patterned wings, which is not common with this group. It is only 3 mm in length. The legs are strongly spinose. Family Mycetophilidae. These are Fungus Gnats and the larvae are tiny and burrow inside of fungi.

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
