It's turkey mating season here in Alabama. The male turkey is strutting his stuff in this picture in the middle of a big group of hens.

It is interesting... we have a big group here in Maine and at least half are male turkeys.... one is the largest and the only one that displays but the others mix in with the hens. I read that often males from the same nest (perhaps) stay together through the winter months. Does that make sense from what you are seeing?
