Ceratiomyxa

Ceratiomyxa sp.

Description:

This one looks very similar to Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa but the structures and spread pattern don't look quite the same. Pic 2 looks like a transitional phase with sporangia just starting to form. Spottings of C fruticulosa in the past have all been on damp logs but this stuff is spread on soil amongst grasses and leaf litter.

Habitat:

In a local nature reserve.

Notes:

Yet to research these shapes... checking other Ceratiomyxa species?
