The only Nepenthes species that has a spectacular habit of climbing up tree trunks. By climbing up tree trunks, N. veitchii exploits a part of the environment where it has access to a higher-flying species of insects. Endemic to Borneo

tropical heath forest, 1000m

Notes:

This spectacular plant is only found climbing trees in a few places of the tropical heath forest in the southern plateau in Maliau basin. A photo of this plant was used for the promotion of Maliau basin conservation area. I saw this photo 10 years ago when I first visited Malaysia and then I actually got to see it with my own eyes!
