Musk duck

Description:

A very unusual stiff-tailed duck native to southern Australia. It is the only living member of the genus Biziura. Musk ducks ride very low in the water, and the males have a distinctive large leathery lobe under their bill.

Habitat:

Rivers, lakes and estuaries of southern Australia. Spotted in the Derwent river near the Bridgewater bridge.
