A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Ramphastos swainsonii
This species is primarily an arboreal fruit-eater, but will also take insects, lizards, small birds and frogs. Flocks will follow Keel-billed Toucans to exploit their sources of food.
It range is from eastern Honduras to northern Colombia to western Ecuador.
This Toucan was photographed at the Barranquilla zoo.
Third picture is telling this bird behavior.... Its look to curiosity for finding in darkness...
It remind me flag of a Caribbean Island Jamaica...very special...Cool..!!
Thank you, I made a really good friendship with this toucan, at first I thought he was aggressive, but then I realized he just wanted to check out the camera or something haha, and after taking the pictures he just started following me around pinching me. He was victim of the illegal pet trade and I thought he would be more like spiteful, but nope he was actually very friendly.
The second Photo goes beyond imagination. Perfect Portrait. Thanks for sharing.
