Leafhoppers, colloquially known as hoppers, are minute plant-feeding insects in the superfamily Membracoidea in the order Homoptera (from: Wikipedia)
Just in case you're wondering about the family, it's in Cicadellidae. It's an interesting group. Being small, they're inconspicuous, but when you take the time to really look at them, they have some dazzling colors.
