White footed mouse

Peromyscus leucopus

Description:

7" long, brown back white belly. Ears and eyes large.

Habitat:

Dry Pine oak woods but really all over the place in New England.

Notes:

This mouse had gotten in my sisters house at thanksgiving and was being chased by one of her cats. It sought refuge on the window sill, we trapped it with a sieve and cardboard and took it outside to relative safety.... but way far away from the house. Second photo of mouse nest in our shed. Using our recycled paper.
