Giant Prickly Pear Cactus

Opuntia galapageia profusa

Taken on Rabida Island. Many of the cactus pads grow heart-shaped on this island. They also grow smaller, more shrub-sized with softer spines, as there have never been tortoises or land iguanas to feed on them.

Found throughout Rabida, which has a dryer climate.

Subspecies is endemic to Rabida Island.
