Western skink

Eumeces skiltonianus

Description:

Typical skink. Brown with two stripes of a lighter shade of brown going from head to tail each stripe being about 2mm in with.

Habitat:

Under a board in a grassy area in the foothills at an elevation of 850m.

Notes:

When I lifted the board they were under they would run into the grass and show their tails so I would grab that and they would break it off and get away. When I grabbed them by the body they bit my fingers hard but it didn't hurt as they have no teeth.
