A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
This pretty little spider, silver and orange, has a body about ½" long, and a very agile and trim body form. Since there are 5800 species, I won't even try to figure out what it is, but hope someone else might be able to at least figure it out to subfamily...? As 90% of jumping spiders are Salticinae, that would be my guess.
It was on my veranda which is surrounded by midstory subtropical forest broadleaf and palm trees.
I like jumping spiders immensely. I like how they observe everything around them, and cock their heads when they see something that interests them. It probably helps them perceive distance and position, but it appears oddly intelligent.
