It's a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family of Architectonicidae, which are known as the staircase shell or sundial. Shell up to 5 cm diameter. Colour white to yellowish-brown, lighter at the edges and beneath. Operculum horny and dark brown.
Habitat: fine sand in lower eulittoral zone. Distribution: Indo-Pacific.
