Description:

The largest European moth, with a wingspan reaching 15–20 cm. Lacks proboscis like all other members of the family. Larva feeds on ash, blackthorn and various other trees

Habitat:

Open field nearby a deciduous forest.

Notes:

We saw 5 individuals total. They were attracted by the light.
