Description:

A very patient listener who resides near one of the trails in Florida's Honeymoon Island Park. It is a "vulnerable" species under state and international law, due to development and habitat loss.

Habitat:

Sandy coastal areas. Strictly a vegetarian.

Notes:

Honeymoon Island Park is a preserve set aside for the conservation of these tortoises.

If you're in the Eastern US, that's a Gopher Tortoise. What an amazing critter, good spot.
