Project Noah Nature School
Ascia monuste
13/4 inches
Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge
It was fairly white; and the great southern white is common in the area. Thanks, JessicaHelmbold, for reaching so far back to ID this spotting.
Possible ID suggestions: if its fairly yellow which is hard to tell from the photo then I would suggest Large Orange Sulfur- Phoebis agarithe or if it was fairly white then the Great Southern White Butterfly- Ascia monuste.
